India - Australia Association of Canberra Inc is a voluntary, incorporated organization based in Canberra. It has been providing community services in Canberra and its surrounding regions for the last 30 years. IAAC is an umbrella organization for various cultural groups of Indian origin.
IAAC is celebrating Diwali Mela on a grand scale with the wider communities in Canberra and its surrounding regions. Diwali Mela project has been funded and supported by the ACT Government. We are thankful to the ACT Government Festival Fund and the Multicultural and Community Affairs Group of the Chief Minister's Department for providing us their invaluable support.
- Showcasing the great Indian Cultural heritage to the Australian Community;
- Improving the image of Canberra through celebrating its cultural diversity;
- Bringing communities having Indian cultural background together; and
- Demonstrating Indian 'Unity in Diversity' to the wider Australian community.
India is known throughout the world for its celebratory fervour.
Diwali is the festival of lights and is celebrated with great enthusiasm by all Indians all over the world. It is a festival of joy, splendour, brightness and happiness.

- ·Fireworks
- Cultural performances by various Indian community groups;
- Comedy show;
- Food stalls of Indian delicacies of all descriptions and from all parts of India;
- Stalls of books, craft, Henna hand painting etc;
- Kids' Bride n' Groom show;
- Kids Jumping castle, merry-go-round and clowns;
- 'Bhangra' style Indian folk dance by the entire audience;
- DJ ADI will 'Rock you' till late;
- Major attraction "AN HOUR WITH BOLLYWOOD" - "MADHUBALA SE MADHURI TAK..." - A dance sequence by 40 artists;
