Christmas Choir for National Folk Festival Volunteers
Jenny Simpson, new Director of the National Folk Festival, and long term choir director in Perth, is starting a Christmas Choir for Festival Volunteers. This will not only give Jenny an opportunity to meet and get to know volunteers, but for Jenny and volunteers to have some fun together.
The idea is to learn some Christmas Carols and then hit the streets in the silly season. No singing experience is necessary and there are NO auditions! It is also not necessary to make a commitment, just turn up when you can! The whole idea is to have fun and learn some great songs in the process.
Enquiries can be directed to the Festival Office.

- Meet practical course requirements
- Achieve volunteer component of service awards
- Work experience in the environmental sector.
Uni student Yolande Jones, was on her way to university to register her summer work experience component, as part of her Bachelor in Environmental Biology. “I was just thinking, what am I going to do? And then I noticed the web address on a Conservation Volunteers Australia vehicle.
Before returning to her final year at Uni, Yolande was able to spend five weeks getting first hand knowledge of the industry she was studying. Conservation volunteering was seen as strong way to show an interest in the field, “that you were willing to work and get your hand dirty.”
The web address that Yolande spied on that CVA minibus was www.conservationvolunteers.com.au or call 1800 032 501.
