National Volunteer Week logo

The national theme for National Volunteer Week is
"See the Change … Volunteering".

To help Volunteering ACT recognise their own volunteers, NRMA Insurance and National Australia Bank have offered again this year to sponsor a complimentary dinner and show. At this dinner, we will acknowledge the work the volunteers have done for the organisation, and thank them for their immense contribution to Volunteering ACT.

We would like to thank NRMA Insurance and National Australia Bank for sponsoring the event.

Sharon Sobey

Sharon is an inspiration to us all. Still only a young woman and with many trials to overcome in her own life, she has dedicated her time and efforts to helping others in the community, successfully removing the ‘dis’ from disability.

She is, in part, a volunteer with the Canberra Blind Society, helping with administrative duties, and teaching Braille to other vision impaired members of our community, while achieving numerous other goals through her enthusiasm, strength of character and energy. [more]

Part of that implementation will be two training forums that will be conducted by the ACT Chief Minister's Department on 17 August and 1 September 2004.
